gonna make a suggest news script probably tomorrow. I don't want to get rusty so hopefully i can kick procrastinations butt tomorrow but doubt it.

SQUAWTOWN
This is in Whycocomagh just outside of Wekoqmaq First Nation. What type of people would do something like this? Im guessing kids, because the maturity level of this type of act is quite immature and quite uncalled for. They have since painted over this, but why dd these type of things happen in a community residing right next door to a native reservation. we have lived side by side for years and this is just to show how far we have come. I want to be mad but sadly this is most likely the job of kids.
NEWSLETTER AND MORE
I would just like to let people know that I am currently in the middle of writing a little of the admin section so that it will be of more use to me and to those that will be writing the content and newsletter. I have been very busy the past two years and for the time being I have some time to catch up on some reading and programming. I have been weirdly more into the school work even more now that I\'m done. I will be contacting all mi\'kmaq communities soon to let them know that a newsletter section has been added and will be happy to include anything they would like to share to the mi\'kmaq community. The newsletter will be sent out in pdf format which for those that do not know is adobe acrobat format, so you will have to have the adobe acrobat reader installed which is free to use of course. we are currently taking application for the newsletter now.
I am also going to try to find the time to make an application that lets you follow the powwow trail. I think that this will be taking up quite a bit of my time. you can contact me at admin@mikmaq.com
NEW SECURE INDIAN STATUS CARDS
Note that you will need an original Provincial or State Birth Certificate Long or Short Form, and two IDS to apply for the New Secure Indian Status Cards coming out possibly spring April 09. US Border is closing June 1 09, we were told that children 15 years and under may cross the Border with a Birth Certificate, this is Land and Sea, Those who already have passports are asked to wait to apply for the new cards, priority is those who are going to Maine to Work this summer.
Cards go to the Printing Center and May not arrive until 2 weeks. When you receive your card in the mail or possible pick up at the Band Office, you will be required to activate your card by calling 1 800 number and enter your pin number which you chose at the time of your application. Please do not forget your pin number, The IRA will have your pin number in your file but its best to keep it in a safe place until your card comes as all IRAs will be busy with the new cards. Forms for birth certificates are going to be placed at the front lobby.
